Second Sunday Study
Second Sunday Study is a monthly Bible study class taught by our preacher, Adam. It takes place on the second Sunday of the month after the service until about noon or a little after. It’s an opportunity to go more in depth into some of the topics that we’ve been studying, but whether you barely know what a Bible is or you’ve been a Christian for your entire life, you’re welcome to participate.
No preparation is needed to come, but if you would like to read ahead, there will usually be some scripture to read before the class so you can know what’s coming.

Preparation for August 10, 2025- The Ascension of Jesus
Last month, we compared four different accounts looking at the ministry of John the Baptist and the baptism of Jesus. We discussed that different authors of the gospel emphasize different events, as well as the importance of John in different ways. This month, we’ll compare two different accounts about Jesus’ ascension into heaven, one from the gospel of Luke and the other from Acts chapter one.
If you want to do a little extra work (not expected), try to think about the circumstances of the ascension. Who’s there? When does it happen? What happens before and after? Are there differences between the two accounts? If there are, why might those differences exist?
