Week 8: Joel 2:32

July 24, 2017 - Prayer Warriors

And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the LORD has said, even among the survivors whom the LORD calls.

Are you calling on God? When work is tough, loved ones are sick, bills are overwhelming, tension is mounting, and grief overwhelms, what do you do? When life is handing you mud and mischief instead of clarity and compassion where do you turn? Is your help in a bottle? Does a magazine hold your appetite? Do you give into your fears? Do you lash out against others? Do you sink deeper inside yourself?

God tells us we need only call out to him! A simple, “Hey, Jesus,” is all we need. Even if we cannot express what we need, even if we do not know what we need, HE knows. Jesus stands ready to hold us, to heal us, to bring us peace and a home…and so much more.

Prayer

• That we will call on God to help us, to save us, and not try to do it on our own.
• That we may be empowered by the Holy Spirit to speak the truth in love and not judgment.
