Commitment

March 12, 2018 - Prayer Warriors

Commitment is defined as choosing a path and not straying from it.

Commitment is tough in the best of circumstances. In a world of fast food, disposable everything and cheap deals, it is doubly difficult to stay commitment when so many things tempt us to quite or just get a new one. How then, do we as Christians, stay commitment to what is important?

Step One: Choose the path. That path could be for a relationship, career, investment, use of your free time, use of what you will offer God…Not sure? Pray and God will show you. God tells us if we seek him with all our strength that we will find him. You see, it is only by first seeking God that we can find anything else of value or importance in our lives.

Step 2: Commit your plans and actions to the Lord. Once we find what God has for us, then commit it all to him. The bible tells us, “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans” (Proverbs 16:13, NIV).

Step 3: Commit yourself to the Lord. This is the true glue for success. Without committing yourself and your will under God’s will, nothing we do will succeed. Job reminds us:

So commit yourself to God completely.
Reach out your hands to him for help.
14 Get rid of all the sin you have.
Don’t let anything that is evil stay in your tent.
15 Then, free of those things, you can face others.
You can stand firm without being afraid.
16 You can be sure you will forget your troubles.
They will be like water that has flowed on by.
17 Life will be brighter than the sun at noon.
And darkness will become like morning.
18 You will be secure, because there is hope.
You will look around you and find a safe place to rest.
19 You will lie down, and no one will make you afraid.

(Job 11: 13- 19, NiRV)

Prayer

Father, we commit to you all that we are, all that we hope, all that we say and all that we do. Show us your good will for our lives and help us to run after your will with every fiber of our being. We praise and thank you in Jesus name. Amen
